As an interior designer, it’s my job to see past what’s currently in a space and envision a completely fresh, new room. That’s exactly what I did for my client’s home office in her Summit, NJ house! My client wanted to create a home with personality and flair that would be functional for their family and friends and also be a wonderful place for entertaining, but it was also important to create a dedicated and inspiring work space. I had so much fun transforming this room into a beautiful office.

As an interior designer, it’s my job to see past what’s currently in a space and envision a completely fresh, new room. And that’s exactly what I did for my client’s home office in her Summit, NJ house! My client’s office needed to be a sleek, clean beautiful space where she could work and we wanted to capitalize on all the wonderful natural light that floods the room.   Previously it was a dark, wood paneled billiard room. At first, I thought we could rip out some of the old dark wood paneling and paint the rest but we decided that was going to be more work. This also wouldn’t give us the result we wanted so she had all new built-ins created by Canterbury Design. 

We did chic, embroidered sheers to allow as much light in as possible. I found a fabric with a beautiful color combination for her desk chair and used the rust, mauve and sage tones in that fabric to drive the rest of the elements in the wallpaper, ottoman fabric and rug.  The stone top Saarinen table adds a sleek, sophisticated yet soft feel rather than a large angular desk. The room is feminine-inspired with luxe elements. I adore a dramatic “Before-and-After” just as much as the next person. When I can completely reimagine the design of an old space and turn it into a clients dream home office, that’s my most favorite type of extreme home makeover!  Let our Libby Interiors Team create YOUR DREAM ROOM!
