House Beautiful: Bright and Bold

What a thrill to have a project I designed not only featured in the pages of House Beautiful Magazine but then have it actually land on THE COVER!  The springboard for this color scheme was the existing goldfish painting the client loved, I always find if you use something you already adore as the design inspiration for a room you are guaranteed to love the final result every time you walk into the space.

I mixed color and pattern to give the living room energy and zip; bright blue, bold orange, and mixed metal and wood finishes gave the design depth and dimension along with a subtle pattern in the pale blue rug.  The foyer became a statement spot with the blue patterned wallpaper and the small den was a cool combo of an antique sailboat picture they had mixed with some fun wallpaper that backed the shelves and a new rug and comfy seating.  It’s fun to take existing pieces that a client loves and build a custom design around them; interior design inspiration can come in a lot of different ways!
