Ever since I first saw the blueprint for the Hamptons Designer Showhouse’s living room, I knew it needed to exude relaxed elegance. It had to nod to coastal luxury. Getting to install this space live—filmed during “Installation Day”—was a dream come true. Here’s a behind-the-scenes peek into the creative journey behind this transformation at the Hampton’s designer show house.

Preparing this living room for transformation at Hampton’s designer show house began with detailed construction and architectural enhancements. These changes were meant to bring depth and timeless elegance to the space. We started with framing and drywall, then carefully mapped out custom panel molding, wainscoting, and crown details. This was to create a classic foundation. The fireplace was reimagined as a focal point with tailored millwork to anchor the room. A coffered ceiling was added to introduce subtle sophistication overhead. Electrical and AV placements were integrated early to ensure seamless lighting and fixture installation. Once all millwork was in place, the space was primed and painted in a clean, crisp white. This unified the walls and trim, highlighting every architectural layer. It set the stage for a beautifully finished interior.

This living room transformation at the Hampton’s designer show house is a bold mix of color, pattern, and tailored elegance. A high-gloss coral ceiling sets the tone. It is echoed in the artwork, accents, and upholstery. Deep blue geometric wallpaper adds depth and contrast, while the custom drapery with color-blocked trim frames the windows. This adds structure and softness. The furniture blends classic forms with playful fabrics. Thus, creating a dynamic yet cohesive look. Every element—from the nailhead-trimmed chairs to the sculptural lighting—was thoughtfully chosen. This was to bring energy, polish, and personality to the space.
