Designing homes in Florida presents a unique opportunity to blend indoor comfort with the spirit of coastal living. Florida Interior Design captures this essence perfectly, and that’s exactly what I set out to do with this vibrant, personality-filled project.

The Entryway

From the moment you step inside, the entryway sets the tone: playful, bold, and sophisticated. I chose a striking navy console with nailhead trim and added vibrant coral and oceanic accents. These speak to the home’s seaside location. The beaded chandelier overhead? A showstopper that adds just the right dose of whimsy. I especially love how the custom stools in that saturated fabric create a moment of color. The pattern draws you right in.

The living spaces were all about light, flow, and function. In the family room, we layered soft blue tones with classic creams, incorporating tailored upholstery, striped patterns, and coastal art. The soaring ceiling gave us a chance to play with scale. As a result, we anchored the space with built-in shelving and created intentional moments of symmetry. This allows for a serene, balanced feel.

The Kitchen

In the kitchen, functionality met style with white cabinetry, a soft blue island, and natural rattan bar stools. These add texture and casual charm. The breakfast nook, nestled against wide windows, makes the most of the waterfront view. This proves that natural light is the best accessory.

One of my favorite rooms to design was the primary bedroom. I aimed for an atmosphere that felt both restful and refined. Soft coastal blues and layers of textured neutrals were paired with crisp, tailored furniture. Everything from the drapery to the artwork was selected to reinforce that feeling of calm. Natural light enhances every detail.

I also wanted to bring in more playful elements, especially in the guest bedrooms. We used bold, tropical wallpaper to create an instant sense of joy and personality. This was done while keeping the furnishings clean and neutral to let the pattern shine. Each space feels cohesive yet distinct, telling its own story within the larger home.

Throughout the house, thoughtful touches—like bamboo-inspired wallpaper, rattan textures, and natural materials—tie everything back to the surrounding Florida landscape. This project was a true collaboration between classic coastal elegance and vibrant, collected design.
